Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed orange or tangerine juice 
  • Pinch kosher salt 
  • Two 12-ounce bags fresh or frozen cranberries 
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 
  • 4 mandarin oranges or 1 orange, zested

Directions

Combine the sugar, orange juice, salt and 1/2 cup water in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Add the cranberries, vanilla extract and orange zest and simmer on low heat until the cranberries have broken down and created a sauce, 15 to 20 minutes.

Serve warm or at room temperature.
