  1. Put the marshmallow, aniseed, cloves, elderberries, liquorice, eucalyptus and orange into a saucepan with 2 1/8 cups water. Simmer until the liquid is reduced by one-fifth. Remove the liquorice and eucalyptus leaves and discard. Blend the mixture in a blender until smooth. Pour the liquid back into the pot and add the honey, glycerine and lime juice. Stir and simmer for 2 minutes. Pour into sterilized, clear 250-milliliter bottles. Take 2 tablespoons 3 times a day. Keep refrigerated. Use within 2 weeks.

Cook’s Note

If using fresh marshmallow root, use 4 dried liquorice roots.
