1/2 ounce simple syrup

6 sprigs fresh thyme

2 lemon wedges

1 orange wedge

1 1/2 ounces bourbon, such as Bulleit

1 1/2 ounces sweet vermouth

Ice, for chilling and serving


  1. Combine the simple syrup, thyme, lemon and orange in a cocktail shaker and muddle together. Add the bourbon, vermouth and ice. Shake and double strain (to remove all the thyme leaves) into a lowball glass filled with ice.
