Toasting nuts gives your dishes a deeper roasted flavor and the best way to do this is in the oven.
Spread the nuts in an even layer on a baking sheet. There’s no need to use oil as the nuts have their own.
Roast at 350 degrees F for 8-12 minutes.
Give them a shake halfway through so they don’t burn. When you can smell them, they’re done.
Whatever nuts you’re toasting, get them to a plate right away to cool down.
Toasting also makes it easier to peel nuts, like hazelnuts. Use a kitchen towel and rub; the skin will fall right off. Don’t worry about removing every bit.
