Chocolate Fondue

2 cups heavy cream

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

Pinch salt

2 teaspoons vanilla extract  

12 ounces milk chocolate, chopped  

12 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped  

For Dipping:

Strawberries, pineapple cubes, sliced bananas, marshmallows, cubes of angel food cake

Vanilla ice cream, for serving with a fondue drizzle, optional


Special equipment:
a fondue pot
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, stir together the heavy cream, butter and salt. Once the butter has melted, add the vanilla and chocolate; stir until smooth.
  2. Pour into a fondue pot set over a low flame. Serve immediately with your choice of dipping items or drizzle over ice cream if desired.
