Roasted Garlic Spread

2 heads garlic

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 French baguette, sliced 

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes


  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. 
  2. Peel the outer layers off of the garlic and cut about 1/4 inch off of the tops. Drizzle the olive oil over the tops of the heads, wrap them in foil and roast until the cloves are soft to the touch, 35 minutes. 
  3. Squeeze the roasted garlic out of the skins into a bowl, and then spread onto the baguette slices. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste, followed by the red pepper flakes.
