Mulled White Wine

In Europe, people love mulled wine. Most Christmas markets have a vendor selling just that. It is one of the things that instantly gets me into the holiday spirit. Mulled wine is typically made with red wine, but I decided to switch it up a bit and try it with white wine instead. It works really well.

1 bottle dry white wine

1/4 cup honey 

5 peppercorns 

2 cloves 

2 strips orange peel, white pith removed

1 cinnamon stick 

1 star anise 


  1. Combine the wine, honey, peppercorns, cloves, orange peels, cinnamon and star anise in a large, heavy-bottomed pot. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat, then turn down the heat to low and cook for 25 minutes. Remove from the heat and strain into a heatproof pitcher or glasses. Enjoy warm.
