Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb ground pork
  • 1/4 peeled and deveined shrimp, finely minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped water chestnuts
  • 2 scallions finely chopped
  • 1/4 finely chopped cilantro
  • 2 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp of sesame sauce
  • 2 tbsp of finely chopped ginger
  • 1 clove of finely chopped garlic
  • 6 shiitake mushrooms finely chopped
  • 25-30 wrapped won ton wrappers

Directions

Fill medium size pot filled with water to a boil. To make the filling place the pork, shrimp and all ingredients into a mixing bowl. Stir vigorously until ingredients are well incorporated. Set aside. Let sit for 10 minutes. 

To assemble wontons, working with one wrapper at a time place one wrapper in palm of hand, moisten all edges with cold water. Place 1 tbsp of filling in center of wrapper and fold into a triangle. Press edges together firmly to seal. Place on a baking sheet dusted with corn starch and cover with a damp towel. When water comes to a boil, place half of your assembled dumplings into boiling water. After dumplings rise to surface, let dumplings cook for another minute. Remove from boiling water and place in colander. Repeat process with remaining dumplings. Serve with desired dipping sauce.
