Sweet and Sour Lychees

1 teaspoon vegetable oil

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

1 cup fresh lychee nuts, peeled, halved and pitted

2 tablespoons seasoned rice wine vinegar

1/2 sweet onion, sliced and soaked in cold water for 5 minutes then drained

1/4 teaspoon sesame oil

Kosher salt


  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a saute pan over medium-high heat. Add the sesame seeds and lightly toast. Add the lychees and the vinegar, cook for 30 seconds. Add the onions, toss and cook for an additional 30 seconds. Add the sesame oil and season with salt.
