Turkey Chili with Kidney Beans

1 tablespoon grapeseed oil

2 pounds ground turkey thighs (see Cook's Note)

3 tablespoons chili powder 

2 tablespoons minced garlic

1 tablespoon minced fresh oregano 

1 teaspoon ground cumin 

1 teaspoon seasoned salt 

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes 

l large onion, chopped 

1 large green bell pepper, chopped 

Himalayan pink salt and freshly ground black pepper

2 cups cooked kidney beans 

Two 16-ounce cans crushed tomatoes 

Serving suggestions: rice or cornbread


  1. Place a large stockpot over medium-high heat and coat with the grapeseed oil. Add the ground turkey, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Add the chili powder, garlic, oregano, cumin, seasoned salt, red pepper flakes, onions, bell peppers, 1/4 teaspoon Himalayan salt and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper; saute for 5 minutes. Stir in the beans and crushed tomatoes and simmer over low heat, covered, for 30 minutes.
  2. Serve with your favorite rice or cornbread.

Cook’s Note

It's preferable to use dark meat, as it has the most flavor.
