Tired of their outdated kitchen, Rev Run and his wife, Justine Simmons, recently gave the room a complete overhaul, turning it into a sleek, modern space for cooking big family meals.

Before the face-lift, a column holding the microwave stood in the middle of the room, making the kitchen feel tiny and cramped.

Removing the pillar opened up the Simmons family's kitchen, giving them more room to move between the eating and dining spaces.

The Simmons family also put in brand-new appliances, like this five-burner stove.

There's also plenty of countertop space, so Rev's family members can easily prep for their weekly Sunday suppers.

Although they updated the layout and appliances, Rev Run and Justine kept their color motif the same.

Most of the room is white, with pops of bright red and black.

The eat-in nook got a slight update — the half-moon table was swapped for a rectangular one, and the distracting big-screen television was removed.

For larger feasts, the party moves into the formal dining room, which shares the kitchen's color theme, but is far more traditional in style.

See how Rev Run and Justine use their new kitchen to prepare simple, heartfelt meals that bring the family back home on Rev Run's Sunday Suppers.
