Daisy shows how a busy working mother can prepare a quick, healthy and nutritious dinner, even on a work night. ...starting with pan seared red snapper, along with some garlicky Green Rice, a sassy Avocado Grapefruit Salad, and crispy salty-sweet Guava Cheese Turnovers - the perfect meal to serve to husband Gerry and her young daughter, Angela.
It's Father's day and Daisy is making a special meal for her special hero - her Popi, a retired Fire Department captain. He's a real meat and potatoes guy and Daisy is preparing a fabulous grilled skirt steak with chimichurri sauce, a Latin styled potato salad and a Caribbean coconut Panna cotta.
Daisy's three grown sons are coming home for dinner tonight and Daisy celebrates by making a whole meal out of their favorite dishes. Marc is going to swoon when he sees Seviche made with plump shrimp and spicy salsa. David's mouth is going to water when he gets a whiff of the fragrant Spice-Rubbed Pork with an aromatic saute of onions and peppers, and Erik will brush tears of joy when he tastes her Chocolate-Rum Mousse with its crispy cookie topping.
Daisy's "Posse" of friends is coming over for dinner so she's planning a meal that sizzles as much as they do. The party starts with delicious garlicky Chorizo Stuffed Mushrooms, a fabulous Pan Seared Halibut served on a bed of Smoky Roasted Peppers, and a gorgeous, fragrant, yellow rice-inspired Orzo with Jamon. To top it off - a bubbly Cava Sangria with fresh berries. Cue the salsa music, baby!
Daisy loves to cook something personal for her mom on her birthday, and today she's preparing a delicious brunch featuring all her favorite foods: Fried eggs on a bed of fragrant chorizo and buttery avocado, napped with a tangy tomato sauce and sour cream, a healthy Daisy-fied version of "refried" beans with crunchy tortilla chips, and finally delicately sweet Mexican crullers with a steaming mug of aromatic Café de Olla, singing with cinnamon
Last year Daisy's friend Miggy hosted her on a tour of the Dominican Republic. Daisy is saying thanks by inviting Miggy and her family to Casa Daisy for a traditional Dominican Sunday Dinner featuring a Savory Arroz con Pollo with fragrant fluffy ice and golden chicken, a simple but rockin' salad of juicy oranges, red onions and black olives and a dessert that pairs sweet red tomatoes in a spiced syrup with fresh cheese.
