Directions

Pour the milk into a small pot, add the cloves, green and brown cardamom pods, cinnamon sticks, sugar, tea leaves and ginger, and bring to a simmer. Turn the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain into a 2-cup measure and, using an electric milk frother or an espresso machine, steam the milk until it is thick and foamy. Pour into 2 large latte cups and spoon the foam on top. Sprinkle with ground cardamom and cinnamon and serve.

I love Chai Latte and buy it at work once in a while (it's $3.50 for a large so it really is a "treat"). But, I wanted something I could make at home. This is delicious! I bought all of the ingredients, which can be pretty pricey but will last for quite a while, and made a cup this morning. Loved it. Tasted just like the one I love at work. And, since I have an espresso machine and am able to steam the milk after it's done, it doubles in size.

After having chai tea in Austin, TX yesterday at an Indian restaurant I was very disappointed and tried making Bal's recipe this morning it came out very delicious. I don't think that I would be ordering this again except if Bal makes it. Thanks for sharing.
I just started watching your show last night and I'm a huge fan, love the music in the background.
