2 cups half-and-half

1/4 cup sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

6 large eggs

8 slices white Pullman bread

4 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons grapeseed oil

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 pound cured ham, thinly sliced

16 strips cooked bacon

8 slices Swiss cheese

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
  2. Whisk together the half-and-half, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and eggs. Dip the bread into the batter and let soak for 1 minute.
  3. In a large pan over medium heat, add the butter and grapeseed oil. Add the soaked bread to the pan and fry on both sides until golden brown. Remove to a baking sheet and brush with maple syrup
  4. Divide the ham, bacon and cheese among four of the bread slices, top with the remaining bread and place in the oven; the sandwiches are done when the cheese has melted, about 4 minutes.
